Faces, fauna, orchids
In an effort to build a routine of constant work with basic materials (ink and paper), a series of 30 drawings spontaneously arose. With a unique format of 30 x 40 cm, these exercises were a
mixture of observation and imagination, or how what is observed can be transformed by the imaginary path.
The cultural diversity of Singapore opens the way to physiognomies and Asian ornaments while a hybrid fauna of human gestures seems to reflect a process of emotional mutation which visually went
from Caracas to Singapore. From that time on, Asian influence will always be marked or slight, but always present. From that time also dates my fascination with orchids.
